Fee Schedule

Fees and how they are paid

  • Fees for fall semester are due: AUGUST 29th. Please plan IN ADVANCE to have fall semester fees (half the full amount) due before the end of August. ALL on-campus living groups collect their full housing fees for the semester up front. If you struggle with this, make an appointment with Financial Aid to look over your financial aid package.
  • Fees for spring semester are due: JANUARY 29th. Again, housing fees are to be paid up front IN FULL.
  • A double occupancy is $3,250 per semester (fees include room and board)
  • A single occupancy is $3,800 per semester (fees include room and board)
  • Payment plans are not generally accepted. Under special circumstances, this can be arranged but they come with finance charges. Arrangements for this are done through the Board of Directors.
  • Steel House housing fees are done directly through Steel House. You will NOT be billed for Steel House through your student account. It’s your responsibility to pay Steel House directly.
  • Residents must write a check (or get a money order or cashier’s check) to pay for fees. Cash payments are NOT accepted.
  • Summer occupancy can be arranged at $700 (Monday after school is out in May through August 11th). In addition, residents can arrange to store items at the house for $100 for the summer.
  • Fees are broken down as follows:
    • A little over half of semester fees go toward rent of our house at 908 South Blake.
    • The remainder of the fees cover (from most to least): all utilities (water, sewer, heat, garbage, electricity, Internet, cable), food, salaries (cook and house administrator), janitorial supplies (TP, cleaning, vacuums, light bulbs, etc), taxes (payroll, unemployment, state and federal), insurances (liability, unemployment), maintenance/building fund, and office supplies.

  • STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR LETTING THE UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO (Admissions Office) KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN STEEL HOUSE TO AVOID RESIDENCE HALL FEES BEING ADDED TO YOUR SCHOOL BILL! This is VERY important!!!
